Humble Robotics raises $51M for cabless electric self-driving trucks, total funding $75M

Humble Robotics, a San Francisco startup building electric self-driving trucks without a driver's cab, has raised $51 million, the company told Business Insider. Obvious Ventures led the round, with existing investors Eclipse and Energy Impact Partners participating. Total funding is now $75 million; Humble declined to disclose a valuation.

CEO Eyal Cohen previously worked on Apple's self-driving car project, Uber's autonomy effort and trucking startup Waabi. The Humble Hauler is designed to carry 40-foot shipping containers on regional routes, generally under 250 miles, between ports, warehouses and distribution centers. Humble tests it at a UC Berkeley-run former dynamite factory, with a temporary cab for supervised driving.

Why it matters

Humble has yet to move freight commercially. Customer pilots using conventional trucks start in the first quarter of 2027, and Cohen expects commercial operations in the third quarter. Humble's California permit covers testing only with a safety driver.
