EndoQuest Robotics says surgeons completed two fully robotic transoral gastric reconstruction procedures with its Endoluminal Surgical (ELS) System at The Panama Clinic in Panama City. Led by Dr. Todd Wilson, with local investigator Dr. Richard Altieri Pérez, the cases used two-handed robotic instruments for full-thickness suturing through the mouth. The company calls them the first fully robotic transoral gastric procedures and the ELS System's first clinical use in the upper GI tract.

The work builds on conventional transoral outlet reduction (TORe) for patients after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. EndoQuest says the flexible ELS System enables countertraction and triangulation that are hard with standard endoscopy. In July 2026 it finished enrollment in the U.S. PARADIGM IDE trial for lower-GI ESD and is preparing a De Novo request, targeting a 2027 U.S. launch if the FDA authorizes it. The ELS System remains investigational and is not cleared for sale in the United States.
